[English]

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of academic entrepreneurship on students' employability, emphasizing the mediating role of academic competencies. Academic entrepreneurship can lead to the improvement of students' employability by strengthening innovative attitudes and individual skills, and this relationship is also indirectly strengthened through increasing academic competencies. The research method is descriptive-correlational and applied in terms of purpose. The statistical population consisted of 360 undergraduate students in the fields of educational sciences, psychology, and counseling at Mohaghegh Ardabili University, of whom 186 were selected as samples using the random sampling method with proportional allocation and Morgan table. The data collection tools were the standard questionnaires of the entrepreneurial spirit of Vatankhah et al. (1394), the development of employability of Pitan University (2020), and academic competency - short form of Kharmaei and Kamri (1400). The data were analyzed using SPSS 26 and PLS software. The results showed that academic entrepreneurship and its components (achievement, independence, risk-taking, creativity, and internal control) have a positive and significant effect on employability and academic competencies; also, academic competencies directly affect employability and play a significant mediating role between academic entrepreneurship and employability. Based on the results, strengthening entrepreneurial educational environments can lead to improving career readiness and academic capabilities of students.
